The integration of silicon based transistors is approaching the limits of process physics, and graphene with ultra-high carrier mobility is expected to become the next generation of mainstream chip materials. There are band gaps introduced by quantum effects in graphene nanoribbons, which make them have unique electrical properties. They can overcome the inconvenience caused by the semi metallic nature of graphene itself, and are more suitable for the manufacturing of integrated circuits.
